Why do I write Truth!What?

In an age of great individual hubris, I have found myself exceedingly self-conscious. I have vacillated for the better part of year over whether or not I have anything to say that actually matters or isn't already being said by other people and is simply superfluous and likely to become part of the noise in which we are already awash. After great reflection I am suspicious that my perspectives might be somewhat unique and perhaps clarifying.

The format of this blog is being debated still within my own mind. My perspective diverges between philosopher and data scientist and logician. You may find yourself bounced around between exposing some key data on an issue that is routinely misrepresented and philosophical musings on foundational political science topics that may clarify your own political basis. We'll have to see where this goes.

Core Truth - Trying to change an adult's mind about their core beliefs is a waste time. Often, however, people's fact base, historical context, or political context is inaccurate and causing a perspective on policy that does not support their own aims. This blog aims to help readers clarify their own thinking, not get them to think something else.

My core motivation comes from my daughters. At 24 and 21 they are front and center of America's culture wars. My desire is to provide a forum of thoughtful, fact-based insights that further inform them and help them more effectively dissect the impact of talking point / meme-based news attacking them on social media. For the rest of you, I am hopeful you will find anything thoughtful and thought provoking a welcome relief from the aggressive, salacious, and divisive "news" most of us are pretty sick of. I am hopeful that my work here will be additive to your life. Please tell me if it's not :)
